 Good News! HBJO are coming out with a new record. We caught old friend and colossal dupe Dale Merrill right when his stimulus check came in and the slab is set to come out on Bancroft Records in fall. You know how that goes, might be fall, might be spring, might be never. But it's all recorded/mixed/mastered and the artwork is even done (see attached). This is our best yet. I bill it as "the music you resented as a teenager, NOW!"
In other news, I was kicked off of twitter (that's why I'm slumming on some movie review site?) and I'm drinking again!! (those stories possibly related) Manny says twitter isn't the same without me, but in truth he's relieved I'm not around roasting his ass in front of all his fake friends! Haha, love Manny. (for all I know he's on this forum) Oh well, fuck twitter. The way I see it, it's the difference between 37 people reading my books and 19 people reading my books. I just want to enjoy the New Liberal Order in peace. Cheers. |

Let me just say this, somewhat on topic, I think, it's nice to be in a place with other adults! On twitter I felt like the old guy speed freak that would go to all the punk shows and dance all night smiling that all the kids treat like a mascot (he always had some condescending nickname like "Rock n' Roll Dan"). Like fuck you kids! My problems are not your viral entertainment! Just good to be someplace with other cunts who have long-curated drinking problems and bad marriages and kids you can't hold a conversation with. Cheers, cunts!

Further to this brilliant idea, if I won the lottery I would set up a proper website and PAY a fulltime salary to a stable of writers I like (Porkrash, Manners, Distressed Gene-o, maybe even famous pricks like Marina Hyde at the Guardian, etc) to work fulltime writing articles/"thinkpieces" etc. But the focus would be on reviews of shit that sux/they hate. Just putting the boot in with negative cynical delight. That's the shit I want to read.

Yeah i have written professionally one way or another for the past 15 years or so and i’m reluctant to consider myself a writer. In my mind it’s something i do that’s wrapped up in the world of work and i don’t enjoy doing it that much for pleasure. When i have tried to write something for real for myself i usually don’t like it. It’s when i try to write seriously that i realize i really have nothing to say. No interesting perspective. Since THE BIG EVENT i’ve written a lot more for myself than probably ever in my life, and maybe enjoyed it more than ever before. But none of it seems worth sharing with the world. |
