This was really damn good. I was thoroughly impressed at the level of violence and menace for a movie this old, and Mitchum made an excellent villain. Really, this feels like it predicted the harder-edged content of '70s.
Blu-ray has some nice black-and-white visuals but is thoroughly DNRed in a slightly distracting way.
