One of the weirder things I've watched. It sets itself up as a kids' fantasy movie with a precocious boy genius hero living in a mansion funded by (and full of) toys, but a psychotic disguised as Santa Claus stages a home invasion and the kid has to survive by his wits. Clearly seen by the people who conceived the premise of Home Alone, as it predates the American film, but it's completely unsuitable for children. Surprisingly edgy and brutal, but also stylised and corny. Kind of recommended to fans of oddball films, in that it's simultaneously competently made and bizarrely misjudged. By no means great cinema, but has some fantastic twists and hilarious tonal conflicts.

French title sounds way classier than stupid English "Game Over"

It's called (variously): "Dial Code Santa Claus", "Game Over", "Deadly Games" and "Hide and Freak".
