More morally complex and affecting than I thought it would be. The ending shots of the mutineers surveying their work on Pitcairn are such a horrific downer. Having read a little about the mutiny and Bligh, it really seems like a case of discipline being let slip for too long until there was no turning back. There's something to be said for Gibson's performance that his conflicted feelings on what he's doing are always entirely clear.

The Pitcairns are WEIRD. Still only 50 people live there ffs. Never saw this film. Odd to see Anthony Hopkins was once youngish and handsomeish
