Somehow only watched bits of this over about 10 attempts. The lads, some top camaraderie. What a cast. No chicks. Seemed daftly jarring how chummy the POW's were with the hun though. What a biffo jape those POW camps were eh wot? A cocksure Steve Mcqueen insolently condescending to the bosch before his daily escape attempts. Bit of top hole bantz with the bosch, crikey Hans, you've nicked me again, ho, ho, ho, back in the brig again. Meanwhile in real life the Commandant would have shot the mouthy insolent cunt right in the fucking face in front of all the other prisoners in the first 5 minutes of the film, "Where is your cool motorcycle scene now Herr Mcqveen? The film is over. The nationamannschaft has lugered your brain matter all over the blessed Rheinland soil. No food for a month for the rest of you. Now get in the showers"Steve-o about to initiate his daily escape attempt from the POW camp ho ho ho.

One of the best war films. Make an effort to watch The Colditz Story, which is actually somewhat toned down from the insane shit they actually got up to in the most secure prison in Germany.

Jesus, I hope they didn't make this into a film, that moment would be excruciatingly intense.

The Colditz Story is genuinely entertaining. The Germans and the British officer class were antagonistic but there was a sort of professional courtesy between them and so a sort of continual game of silly buggers was sort of tolerated.
