Not an Ealing comedy, but definitely a farce in that sort of spirit. Alistair Sim plays the headmaster of a school for boys that through bureaucratic bungling has to take in a girls' school helmed by battleaxe Margaret Rutherford. It's endlessly charming and funny and an absolute pleasure to watch. One of the things I like about these old comedies is how the social mores make for greater comic opportunities. Good fun. Joyce Grenfell's hilarious Gossage is a real scene-stealer.
