John McClane is going to be pissed off when this John McClain imposter steals his cigarettes, shoes, and twinkie. There could be some fireworks on Christmas Eve...

I'm a bit tired of the "Die Hard is the best Christmas film, hur hur hur" Facebook-tier takes, but I do like the film and I do often watch it around Christmas. I have the 4K of this but it really could use a better scan.

My beloved wife got me into this film. The more violent the film, the more likely she would be recommending it for our viewing pleasure. The sequels were much enjoyed in this home. I put a lot of our shared films away when she died, but I kept this one out for one more Christmas viewing. I'll have some tears, as my favorite movie watching partner is gone forever, but she would want me to watch some good, violent film for Christmas. I might watch all the John Wick films in her honor as well. She watched them five times more than I did. The first film had her with the dog being killed. All violence after that was, to her mind, absolutely justified. I miss that kind of thinking, for sure when I mull it over.
I love that image above. It would be my self-portrait were I able to rig whatever I could up.

I was just contemplating bringing those first two Bourne films up here to view. I put them off until tomorrow. Too funny!
