Definitely not the funniest of the Ealings, lacking the dark comedy of Kind Hearts & Coronets or the criminal hijinks of The Ladykillers and The Lavender Hill Mob, but my gosh, the Blu-ray is exquisite. If you want a time-machine capable of taking you back to rural England in 1953, this is it. The colour is just unbelievable, with impossibly green landscapes covered in a riot of wildflowers, stone-walled villages and richly textured tweeds.
Fun, in a pretty slight sort of way, but whereas I'd give my full recommendation to the other Ealings, this is a purely aesthetic sort of curiosity piece.
