A childhood favourite that was just released on Blu-ray. Miyazaki's work before Ghibli, it's obviously a little limited compared to his films, but it's so beautiful and charming compared to American animation of the era. Really nice restoration and solid comprehensive package by Discotek media. Thoughtfully includes seamless branching of the original Japanese version as well as the English language edits. The English sound isn't as good as the Japanese, and the voice acting lacks their particular verve, so even though it's an English character the Japanese version is a little better in my opinion.

Been pacing myself and watching one of these a day since the set was pricey and there were only 26 episodes ever made. What a lovely little show. I've particularly enjoyed the one where Miss Hudson is kidnapped and her overwhelming niceness and cheerfulness - combined with her cooking and cleaning the villains' lair while they're out - utterly disarms them and they proceed to be little-boy polite to her even as they treat her as a pawn to bait Holmes.
