It was very good. A biopic shot as a thriller. I had misgivings about the frantic pace it establishes in the beginning, but it ultimately works really well. Definitely your quintessential prestige cinema piece.

LOL no release date for this in Japaaaaaaaaann yet....  Guessing the j-studio bigwigs are just waiting to see if the film casts Japan in its usual carefully-nurtured victim light, in order to marry up with 60 years of their school history book propaganda... and if not... then we enter The Memory Hole. Even if it is in the cinemas, I can't imagine many j's will want to see it. Who wants to watch a replay of a match your team lost 0-1? |

Not much input from the real villains of the piece, The Japanese.
Wonder if it ever made it to cinemas here or the entire project and all its cultural accoutrements entered that most selective of memory vortexes known as The Japanese And Their Relationship With The Truth

I tried finishing Oppenheimer earlier this year and couldn't finish it. The movie isn't terrible or anything it's just that because of my cognitive problems I couldn't follow it too well. I must say that I don't know how people can look over how terrible the dialogue can be in that movie. Also the pacing kept ramping up to a climax that seemed far away and that was annoying. My cognitive symptoms shouldn't have been that much of an issue it's just that I probably also wasn't in the mood to watch it. I'll try to finish it someday even though I think it's a bit overrated
