I was really looking forward to this and think going back to the "you wait a week for this" is better than dumping the whole season at once. So far, 3 episodes in, disappointing. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, I guess more of the same, which it is, and there are some fun bits (dumb people explaining inflation and why it's good/bad), but I recall this show getting some real LOLs (literally) and so far, nowhere near. But maybe I'm just a curmudgeon. See also my forthcoming thread on the newest I Think You Should Leave, it's pretty much the same thing.

Long thought about giving this a burl. Although my strike rate with these "Very American" comedies is not strong. Schitts Creek was an instant rockbottom 0/10. Lasted femtoseconds with the seppo "Office" and "Community". Modern Family was about as funny as a 9/11 AIDS telethon.
With the fake high tension, overacting and gurning for the camera they just aint my scene man.
Which is the best season to start from?

hmmmmmm... First of all based on the shows you also dislike, I would say yes, give Sunny a try. I did like the Office but maybe (I'm super cool) went out of order because I Saw The British One First.
Schitts Creek good god, took about 3 mins to be like "borderline painful," etc. I haven't really given those other shows a try but cannot imagine them being funny.
Is Season 15 really exceptionally good? Or just the most recent one I watched? I dunno but maybe try a couple there? (give s15e01 a pass on American-ness. I generally don't think it's super American-focused, but that episode, maybe more than average)

It's been going forever now and there are certainly highs and lows, but when it's on it is fucking hilarious. Episodes to watch to get some idea of what it's capable of: S07E01 - Frank's Pretty Woman S07E07 - Chardee MacDennis: The Game of Games
S10E01 - The Gang Beats Boggs S10E04 - Charlie Work
S12E02 - The Gang Goes to a Water Park

This most recent episode (3) finally really made me laugh. {Im Gender Fluid} Having the 2 guys from Breaking Bad not as a cameo but in significant roles and just referring to Aaron Paul as "Malcom" and Bryan Cranston as "the Dad" is super funny.
