Last time I looked Hollywood films are the USA's number one export. I reckon that there will be a lot of pressure to settle. I am, however, usually wrong and out -of-date. true, but like the titan sub, pressure is on all sides...and the weakest will break first. the big studios have a lot more resources and can ride it out for a lot longer than your average film worker, thats f'sure. 2008 writers strike took over 3 months to resolve, but affected most workers for considerably longer, because it takes time to put the wheels in motion again once the machine has ground to a halt. it also played a big part in the rise of reality tv because its cheap and easy to make without unionised involvement. definitely not a win there. not expecting this one to go to well either, unless the rank and file members are prepared to tough it out for however long it takes to get a good settlement. as opposed to any bad settlements they will be offered early on, or to save face. it would take six months minimum before the big studios start to run low on their stockpiles of yet to be released content...in the mean time they play hardball while waiting for hard times to bite on studio workers and their families thus breaking the unions resolve....thats the way these things tend to go, isn't it? Unfortunately, it is. I have seen too many union members believe that "we will get that back next time", which is, of course, not how labor negotiations work. Very frustrating for me once upon a time. I have given up on humans (myself included). The microbes will win. I sure wish that my union brothers and sisters had the same staying power.

I sure wish that my union brothers and sisters had the same staying power. yeah right, that whole "we will get that back next time" attitude will be the downfall of civilisation. thats what "they" depend on isn't it? chipping away at wages and conditions little by little, so workers either don't really notice or just accept it because they don't want to rock the boat...until theres a whole big chunk gone... sure, its generally best to to work shit out and try to avoid huge confrontation. but once you're forced to take a stand you have to be prepared to see it thru whatever the cost. 'winning a bit back' is not a consolation, after all, what is 15% of nothing?

Oh SHEEEEEEIIIIT I just rememebr what this pic is from. Again maybe only beta will rememebr this but 15 years or so ago our old foriieii used to get binned every so often by uptight service providers. Some nutjob memebr would post boobis and BAM, the whole thing would get blipped and we'd have to start again. My brilliant solution was to register at an Adult site forum provider. Brilliant! That way we could post ANYTHINg. Anyway, this is what the actual backstage site admin control panel looked like. I was so excited I clicked every box and took a screenshot. God knows what the forum was called or what happened to it. psFFS. ANYYYYYYTHINNNNNG. psp: Forii Backdrop Potential: STRONG

I do remember the constant service provider problem. I wondered why the image looked so bloody familiar. Now, thank you, Dawley Shartsdaley, for reassuring me that I am not going 100 percent crazy. Sitting comfortably at 99.8 percent.

my guess is that the studios wanna fundamentally change how movies are made and are willing to cop big losses to make sure they get their way.
fuck bill maher his piss weak cashed up comedian friends like that rogan bloke and everything they stand for.
this strike goes on too much longer and its gonna break me. but i'd rather be broke than work on any low paying indie shite.

Gotta be flexible in this day and age. I just sent an application to Ford. I wrote an additional essay about how honored I would be to live in the birthplace of gritty street-level punk rawk and roll, Detroit. I hear housing is fairly cheap and available there. I'm sure the UAW strike will wrap up quickly...

I really think it's coming, along with CBDC, which isn't CBD but all your CBD purchases will be duly noted along with your "adult" DMM purchases and registered in your SCS - You get your My Number? Not my MY My Number but your My Number. Ironically, everyone will have a number but nothing will be secret.
