Decent enough and basically a Western, with almost no plot, nice scenery and some very satisfyingly brutal kills by Denzel Washington. I've always had some questions about Fuqua's motives for making films the way he does, but reading about the guy made me like him quite a lot and realise that fuck it, I'm kind of a fan. He's like the musician at your local who plays nothing but cover tunes every night, but he's really good at it, they're enjoyable tunes, and he clearly loves playing them. Fuqua gives you unquestionable, despicable villains and heroes who win by being better killers, which is actually how the world really works. I approve of his total lack of smarminess or political soapboxing and his complete moral sincerity. None of his films is particularly noteworthy barring Training Day, but they're all competent and enjoyable enough in their own way. He's a bit of a modern Peter Hyams, who didn't make anything exceptional but then you realise you have a fair few of his films in your collection and they're decent enough.

Think I saw the first couple. The one where Denzel goes radio rental in the hardware walmart? Very satisfying. Denzel as Rambo meets Jason Bourne.
