Seen good reviews for this Aussie comedy but the "Friendsy" pic has me a bit wary. I cannot abide normal people like that, they make me suspicious. What say you forii freaks

Looks like it's shot in the Inner West of Sydney, so immediately sceptical.

Looks like it's shot in the Inner West of Sydney, so immediately sceptical. Is this where the rich arseholes live? Trendy bobos. Mostly crumbling terraces that used to be working class housing, but now very cool and, despite the tiresome, sanctimonious leftiness of the area, the whitest part of Sydney.

Looks like we got a "who's the whitest motherfuckers" argument heating up in the Colin From Accounts thread.... yep. inner west would rank behind all the other areas mentioned in wealth too, altho it has changed a lot in the last 15-20yrs and has no doubt caught up a fair bit.

That pair of decades has REALLY changed things. Inner West's reputation as a sort of refuge of alternate-lifestyle-slackers and immigrants has been fully replaced by $4 million terraces and the immigrants all fleeing to the West.

Australian myths:
Classless society! Nobody hurls accusations of "Bogan white trash" like the "egalitarians".
Larrikins! Reality: dobbing in the neighbours for taking out the trash during lockdown.
Pies! Took my Aussie girlfriend back to the old country for a visit and she was flabbergasted at the flaky, savoury chunky pies on offer compared to the short-crust, bland mince of Australia.
Inner West is Sydney's Diversity Hub! Inner West is fully colonised by university students and BoBos, all the immigrants have now fled to the West.

i dunno if you have you spent much time in sydney or not(?) if you would've just said newtown (or enmore etc) instead of 'the inner west' and i wouldn't disagree. none of the suburbs you chose above are indicative of their larger areas as a whole. lookup ashfield burwood or campsie for the inner west. palm beach, bilgola or curl curl for northern beaches. lindfield, pymble or gordon for upper north shore...or the demographics of those larger areas as a whole and i'm pretty you'll get a very different picture. i didn't looked it up. prove i'm wrong i'll happily admit it. i don't live there anymore but i have a long family history there still visit regularly and spent decades living and working there. and i aint wrong.

Inner West newtown and its surrounding suburbs are fully colonised by university students and BoBos, all the immigrants have now fled to the reall Inner West. fixed the last one for you. not disagreeing with any others altho they too are kinda sweeping generalisations.

I don't disagree although suburb by suburb it's changed a lot over the last few years. I've lived here for 16 years and there's been a noticeable change. Marrickville, where I've lived for about 6 years now is being gentrified very rapidly. The old Greek families are still around but not as much. The North is so expensive that a LOT of new buyers are cashed-up Chinese or Indian, and so much of suburban Sydney is being ripped up and turned into tower blocks for the 100,000+ a year that arrive.

yep, it sure has changed. newtown rents were dead cheap when i was living around there in the'80s. i lived above a shop on enmore road for years and it was a complete dead zone along there with boarded up shop fronts, a couple of stinking old pubs, a dodgy used car lot and not much else. now its all cafes, alfresco dining and trendy bars.
i remember when a friend of moved to marrickville in 1987 we were all like 'why would he move way out there'...

Now that you fat lezzer uggos have stopped arguing Sydney demographical historical semantics I finally got around to watching episode 1.
Fuck this thing.
Ep 1 is some cunt hitting a stray dog and paralysing the mangy fucker and instead of euthanizing the little Fido wanker, wussing out and wearing the vet bill for $12,000 dollars.
HELL NO.
This thing is going to annoy the shit out of me isn't it.
