Rando channel surfed across this on Sky TV, hey, hang about, those ecksnts sound a bit familiar, crikey, little old NZ has a murder mystery that airs in Japan.
The Brokenwood Mysteries is a murder mystery series that stands as one of New Zealand’s biggest television exports. Having just finished airing season eight, it regularly pulls in over three million viewers in France, is a heavy hitter for Acorn TV in the UK and US, and apparently the Danish just bloody love it.
It's surprisingly well done. I say surprising cos I didnt even know that NZ produced tv dramas. Thought all available financial resources in the country went into the twin turbo industries of grog and paying the rugby players. A homegrown TV drama? No money in thet.
