I have my doubts from the trailer, but I'm giving Miller the benefit of the doubt.
Just got a box of the first four in 4K. Huge upgrade over prior releases.

I might have to get that box. I have watched the four to their ruination. I will say that the 4K Fury Road doesn't look great. Detail and so on is very slightly improved, but the flame highlights look distractingly artificial with too much saturation. The (excellent) 1080p and "Black and Chrome" (monochrome) edition are included, so the weird grading choices made for the 4K aren't a major concern. Rest assured the 4K transfers of the first three are absolutely amazing with vastly improved colour and shadow detail, and the sound is a major leap with nice deep bass and spatial effects. Rewatching the first film was particularly revelatory. |
