Very disappointing, not because it was terrible or unwatchable, but because it is full of charm and talent and there's some exceptional production design (for a kids' film of its era). I read afterwards that Dante was rushed by the studio and couldn't actually complete it, and it felt like that was the case, but it also felt like a three-hour movie that needed an emergency ending at two hours. Lots of unfinished story threads. Just a complete mess that was okay but felt like it could have been better.
