Vaguely competent and might even be a slightly better movie on its own terms, but completely misses what made the original memorable. You don't get any lines like "pain don't hurt" or a monster truck driving through a car dealership, you just get Gyllenhaal acting like a serial killer and some incompetent villains. It's also afflicted with some truly terrible effects that look like they were added in by means of one of those smartphone apps. Don't bother.

Ok i saw it and it was quite a joke, though i guess some decent moments. The original isn’t that great either honestly.

Ok i saw it and it was quite a joke, though i guess some decent moments. The original isn’t that great either honestly. There are some good bits, especially where Gyllenhaal calmly states what he's going to do and then does it. It just doesn't embrace its absurdity the way the original does. I laughed with the new one a lot less than I laughed at the original.
