This is genuinely excellent. Absolutely relentless pace and action, wry tone without postmodern, Whedonesque quippiness and stunts that really make you respect Cruise's dedication to his craft. Top marks.

I’m not sure what they’re building upon here.

I don’t know which MISSION IMPOSSIBLE movie came before this one. Rogue Nation (2015). I just watched it. It was the one with the motorcycle chase. And car chase. And plane chase. And whirling vortex underwater breath-holding. Tom's hair looked real good throughout. Reeeeeeeeal good.

Cruise learned to fly a helicopter and pulled off the hardest manoeuvre just for this film. The guy is a psycho, but thank Satan for psychos.

I might as well post this here, as it’s essentially the same movie, but xxx the return of zander cage was also entertaining.

Had seen bits of this but gave it a proper go tonite.
I liked how Superman was a thoroughly evil bastard.
The action scenes made it seem like about 7 films spliced together. By the end, the Paris car chase seemed like about 2 days ago. Any of the 7 or so action scenes would have been the highlight finale in any other film.
