I watched season one and season two of this show last year and found it quite annoying. After watching season three and enjoying it this year, I can safely say it was just my anhedonia that I flared up last year is what made me dislike the first two seasons. Because everything I didn't like about those past seasons were turned way up in the third season. The long montages where nothing happens and slight overacting with some melodrama is what mostly rubbed me wrong last year, but this yeah I could overlook those things and just enjoy the story. I'd recommend the show to anyone who doesn't mind some slight pretension in their adult dramas.

Somehow, despite the rave reviews, I didnt last 5 mins into ep1 with this.
Maybe I came at it in the wrong mood. Just didnt seem like a premise I could get behind. A fucking kitchen?
Det, sounds like nobody liked S3 and it got a hoary old great internet backlash?

Det, sounds like nobody liked S3 and it got a hoary old great internet backlash? Yeah a lot of people didn't like S3 and were bemoaning it on social media. It's a season where nothing happens and the pretension is turned up to 11, yet I still enjoyed it for some reason. I guess I liked the character stuff even though there's barely a plot for them to develop. The first two seasons are definitely better and i'm disappointed you couldn't make it through the first episode.
