Not quite as much narrative unity and moral focus as the apocalyptic Songs from the Second Floor, but absolutely hilarious and oddly touching. Basically a set of tableaux/vignettes that hint towards a relationship between each other as a series of tiny, miserable events in the drab, utterly mundane lives of lumpen, ashen-faced people play themselves out in excruciating detail. Andersson is one of the only people who can make me howl with laughter just by shot composition.
