This is fucking great. I heard this was a Nazi zombie movie and I was invited to a screening with lots of ugly, shrieking comic con attendees in costumes where they were pumping classic rock and metal into the lobby, and so I immediately thought: "Fuck this movie." Then, during the opening scene, they showed a 101st Airborne Dakota with a black sergeant and mixed race soldiers and inwardly cringed because this is really not how black American soldiers were treated in WW2. However, every second after this it got better and better and more visceral and wonderful. Aside from some views of the Allied fleet, most of it takes place in fairly limited sets and locations with a small cast, but it's directed like a Tarantino-esque thriller, with the stakes and the odds carefully mapped out so you are involved at every second. This is the best action-horror-thriller-schlock in absolutely ages and I can't imagine anyone here not loving it.
