This is really good. Feels a bit like a Herzog film with its jungle hellishness and Sisyphean task. Friedkin doesn't want to spare you any of the desperation experienced by the men, and everything is astoundingly worn down and filthy.

The explosions in this film are amazing. I really miss this sort of movie, where crazy things were done entirely practically.
