I initially bristled at the thought of a cheeky, modernised Peter Rabbit, because it felt sort of sacrilegious to do that to Beatrix Potter's exquisite little books, but actually this is a perfectly fun little slapstick comedy. It didn't need the connection to Potter's work, although in a way it makes it feel a little more irreverent. If you like the sort of wit you get on British panel shows, Eddie Izzard, et cetera, this is full of it. It's also kind of beautiful in terms of scenery and colour, and there's an impressive kineticism to the camerawork. Not bad at all.
