This is a very hard film to describe, and it's nearly impossible to describe why it's so good, but I'd recommend it to anyone with a sense of comedic adventure. Two and three quarter-hours of German cringe comedy is what you get. There's kind of a lot going on in terms of thematic material, with a rather bleak portrait of globalised business wreaking havoc both of families and countries, but at its core it's about a prankster father trying to reconnect with his globe-hopping daughter. It's sad, funny and touching in a genuinely uncontrived way.
