PERFECTION. I bought it by accident thinking it was Breakdown, then read some reviews and braced myself for something terrible. I loved it. It's a gourmet cheese symphony that hits its many, many notes with an accompanying fart sound and acme siren. So many exploding trucks and cars, what a pleasure. I was genuinely cheering some of the destruction. A special note: Stephen Tobolowsky is in there for laughs as a cop, and those laughs do not work, but the casting is so pitch-imperfect I laughed at the misfires. Bad comedy is normally the worst thing to sit through, but there's a pantomime element in this film that had me laughing at Meat Loaf.
