This reminded me a bit of a Kubrick film in terms of its detached misanthropy, deapan humour and its matter-of-fact approach to its subject matter. Colman elevates something that could have been a caricature into a convincing character, and Weisz and Stone are hilarious, barely-suppressed vipers under their courtly manners. Absolutely excellent visuals. Hoult's random violence is funny because it's happening to such a terrible person. I loved it.
