It's fine. Probably the most generic and forgettable of all the Marvel films. Carol Danvers has absolutely no discernible character and the score is a fairly hackneyed checklist of '90s grrl pop, but other than that there's basically nothing remarkable about it. Mendelsohn steals the show. It's carefully apolitical to the point that I made a little game of attributing its boilerplate "empowering" talking points to people its makers definitely wouldn't approve of and it wasn't even challenging.
