Some pretty sweet racist colonial tropes trotted out in good old India in this one. Harems, curry gags, king cobras, more harem hotties, sword swallowers, bit more harem action. Still, at least they had some fun and camp gaggery with the Bond narrative.
Couldnt tell if Octopussy herself was a goodie or a baddie for most of the film and refuse to think about it even now. FFS. Not thinking during a Bond film. I'm here for gadgets, theme tunes, sexy conquests, car chases, erotic 70's grottos, wacky baddies underground lairs and a 72-course banquet of casual objectification of all them gorgeous womens.

I think this was my first Bond movie, seen at a drive-in. I remember going through a phase thinking these (Moonraker, Octopussy, etc.) were the bad ones, but then I came around to thinking they were just kind of perfectly stupid and great.

"Mister Bond is a very rare breed. Soon to be made extinct!"
Louis Jordan is my favorite Bond villain, just for his fabulous delivery if nothing else.

Villain's Lair: 0/10Massive fail here. It just looks like a regular building FFS. This place is about as intimidating and creepy as jam. Or pudding. Or hydrangeas. F-
