MD could be my favoritest Lynch of them all, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it and would want to rewatch before going too deep into this analysis. Same way I still haven’t watched all of the 4 hr long youtube video where the guy explains Twin Peaks because I never saw the new season, nor have I read the books.
Thus far, the best MD analysis came from this very pretentious french guy I met who would refer to Naomi Watts as a “vision of the cinema” in a heavy french accent. I quickly discovered though that it’s basically what he’d say about any American actress who did a lesbian sex scene in a movie.

I haven't seen this film in a decade, but I think with the names Diane and Camilla, there is clearly some kind of commentary going on about Prince Charles' treatment of his wife. Also, the blue rose obviously represents their inbred blue blood.
Sure, Diane isn't the same name as Diana, but would you believe that they're etymologically related? It's like when Shakespeare slyly commented on Queen Elizabeth with characters named the cognate Isabel.
There's a lot you're overlooking here.

I very recently rewatched the original Twin Peaks with the intention of watching the new one after and reading the books in preparation for the 4 hour long youtube video where the guy explains Twin Peaks. Unlike most people I like season 2 just fine.

I don’t think I’ve ever owned more than 15 dvds. Last year I started collecting dvds and I think I’m about up to 15. I never watch any of them and just stream movies.
