Ex-astronaut bloke pissing around at home in his shack in some rural bumcrack, whinging about existential concepts, then he toodles off for a drive and hello, he stumbles on world's biggest NASA lair, takes it all in his stride, and within minutes is piloting spacecraft off to save world. SEEMS LEGIT.

The main character is a fucking moron. Wastes time with all those interplanetary time-shifts, which this movie does a very good job in emulating it as a colossal waste of time.

The tone of this film is too leaden. Nolan is actually something like Kubrick, but lacks the underlying wit.

Watched this again. It's unfortunate that we humans seem compelled to try to "make sense" of mind-bending shit like this. Second time around, really noticed what a visual trip this thing is. So what if science knob-ends have a big fucken speccy cry at the implausability of it all. Fuck them. They're not about art. I can see how the director must fucking hate arseholes like that. Just suspend the skeptic in you and go with the mentalness of it all. The last 10 minutes of plot chicanery are insanely imaginative.
Weird how second time around, film soundtracks, whether for good or bad, are always more noticeable. Very suspenseful and "stirring" here.

I think there's something heartening about Nolan being given money to make stuff this heady. There's plenty to criticise, but it also feels a bit beyond criticism.
