Remember when people used to allow themselves to be silly? Didnt have to evaluate, assess and self-critique their every societal movement in order to keep in line with the 20-something self-anointed arbiters of twitterattii decency? Didnt have to comport themselves in mortal fear of being cancelled and run the risk of having their entire world and existential compass cave in around them?
This film will make you miss those days. I wonder if uptight millenial Gen-Z smombies would watch this film and have to suppress their titters at all the horrifically un-PC yet childishly fun shit that takes place throughout the whole fucken thing.
And this film is NON-STOP gags. Just a beautiful barrage of stupid shit. We all know most comedies start out funny but then succumb to the pressure to "develop characters" and "move the plot" resulting in the audience just saying "yeah it was funny... in parts". Yeah, the parts where they didnt give a shit about some precious "story" and just went full-on gag smash.
Wonder what happens to the props from these films. The Ted Striker record album.
And this 2-metre wide sign. You know that mother exists somewhere.

I don’t remember much about the 2nd one, or that it even existed, but I remember liking the first. I believe Airplane is somehow related to the Naked Gun series, which I love a lot. Saw the first NG recently and it still holds up.
