Dumbly, I'll watch one episode then promptly completely forget South Park even exists for 5 years. Then i'll see something online "oh yeah that thing" and scoot off to watch another episode.

One of my favourite episodes is the Barbra Streisand one. I adore Babs but it was hilarious. And the Jennifer Lopez one nearly killed me.
There was a thanksgiving one, too, from one of the earlier seasons that I remember loving, but don't know how it would hold up today.
This thread reminds me that I want to watch Team America World Police again.

Now that I think about it, South Park is surely crazily underrated? What are its telly ratings like in JesusLand?
I've seen bugger all episodes, they must have dud episodes in there, but compared to the Simpsons, who have been chundering out 5/10 episodes for 20 goddamn YEARS now?

Those 2 eps to open SP S23 were perfect 10's for me. No, I'm not interested in "finding fault" with them to award a 9, like some sort of anal cunt milk monitor. FUCKING TEN, CHINA.

Jesus texas fuck the season finale of S23 was {Spoiler}just about the most beautifully absurd thing I think i've ever seen. They started from a place of daftness ("drink driving at Xmas time is fun") and just kept ratcheting up the madness until we're left with Stan and Santa and Jesus doing cocaine together.  At the very end it dawned on me they'd brilliantly done an entire Xmas special with almost no kids in it at all. |

Currently nesting on Season 19. How the arse do these guys not get cancelled? LAMFAQ off at the City Wok pisstake accents although know it is so very, very naughty to do so in this day and age.
This show is like an inspiration to my brain. Maybe it's no coincidence I chundered out a swathe of Daily Mainichi fake news stories and bollocks photo essays around the same time I was balls-deep in hoeing through back episodes of South Park.
Weirdly, I think of watching SP as like when I play my Harvey Milk records. You know when you listen to music and think "man I wish they would do such-and-such with this song?" Harvey Milk are the band that do exactly that. For me. Same as South Park. They see that big ol fat juicy naughty punchline wafting in over home plate and they lasso the cunt and dry hump its arse around ALL the bases.
I think this show has ruined my plans for a Simpsons rewatch. "Once with Token the black, never go back". That shit now seems like the Waltons in comparison

Not really feeling S19's continuing "insidious underbelly" storyline with the little girl Leslie.  The Nathan character is a puzzler too. Occupies a similar space to the Simpsons "Cletus" for me in that it seems to have huge potential but invariably is where the laughs go to die. |

End of S19/start of S20 seems to have forsaken the shithead cheap lulz that make it so great in favour of more earnest "messagey" stuff. The mental premises are still on the fun track but they seem to be focusing too much on The Story and not writing in enough brutal pisstake lines.
