Despite the flaw regarding the portrayal of journalist Kathy Scruggs this is a really decent film, and the performance of Paul Walter Hauser in the title role is some sort of miracle.

Weird, I channel surfed across the start of this last night but backed out. Seemed too depressing, the actual story of some security guard pinged for a bombing he didnt do? Cue rest of film trying to prove he didnt do it.
Clint Eastwood's films are great but it just didnt feel like it would be the entertainment this fuckle cunt needed right then and there so clikcy clicky went the remote.

Yeah, I really don't like much of Eastwood's directorial output, so I had low expectations but totally agree about Hauser - truly amazing performance!

I meant his movies in general, especially for the last 20 years, haven't done much for me, but yeah, this one is definitely watchable.

I remember watching this and being shocked at the end when Eastwood's name appeared. I usually like his films but I found this rather lacklustre. It meandered and the subplot with the lawyer and his secretary should have been entirely cut out of the film.
