Biden easily won the debate last night but he's still so...old. I kept imagining Warren up there, shredding Trump. Trump talking about tiny windows and those fucking hand movements in, out, in, in, out, up, okay sign, up, down, in, out, in, in, out. I started copying him as he did it to try and gauge what it feels like to be him and it felt like durrrrrrrrrrr. After it was finally over I had to take 3 extra strength tylenol, my head felt like it had been put in a blender.
Compared to the first debate though, it was much easier to watch. Trump actually stopped talking most of the time he was supposed to. I suspect they gave him a low dose of ativan or something like it to calm him down, he seemed borderline amiable. I've avoided almost every single instance of him speaking during the last 4 years and yet listening to him try to form coherent thoughts and properly articulate them only in these 2 debates was soul crushing. I hope the Biden admin invests heavily in public education to correct the illiteracy of the electorate.
If only 60% of eligible voters voted in 2016 and less than half of them voted for Trump, that means that less than a quarter of the eligible voting population of the US elected Trump. I'm floored by people who are now writing in candidates on their ballots or voting third party. So many people have learned nothing from this shitshow or are so fucking self-absorbed and ignorant of what's at stake here.
So few people are talking about what the GOP is doing to steal this election, everyone is relying on stratospheric votes for Biden. I think Biden may have the votes to win but I hope they also have the right people on their side for what comes after November 3rd.

I think the Dems have more up their sleeves for what happens post-election. It is impossible that they don't have contingency plans and allies, and powerful people at the ready. I mean, my political knowledge is limited, but I can't believe they are leaving it all to the chance of a landslide when the GOP has been crippling the voting process. |

Has everyone seen the protests in Poland re abortion? Hundreds of thousands of people marching.
Yesterday Trump signed an 'anti-abortion declaration' along with 32 other countries, most of which have authoritarian governments. Amy Coney Barret is a death knell for women's rights. It really fucking bothers me, the pro-lifers. This isn't a "pro-life" planet in any sense. We slaughter trillions of living animals a year for food we don't need, and these lunatics are whinging about unformed cells inside other people's bodies. I've so had it with this shitshow planet. |
