One social experiment I want to try is to suddenly refurbish the account as my own, Sprague Dawley, and start tweeting about doom metal or whatever. Then, a month later, maybe switch it back to Raelene overnight. I predict the poor slag will have gone from 40 "followers" to about 3 U R THE MIKE MORANIVICH OF MORANS. 2010 raelene couldve been me. I get these dumbo ideas, then forget about them |

I signed up to twitter around the same time as Eris in 2019. I managed a tiny handful of posts. She had 31,000 in the same time frame.
31,000.
31,000 divided by 2 and half years = a FUCKTONNE of tweets every day
I want to know the attraction of twitter, it's vaguely irritating that EVERYONE is on there seemingly having a gaye old time whereas I just can't see the fun in it.
The foriisphere is so much better yet completely abandoned. Huge open fields, picturesque setting, all the space you want to blab away or post hoary great long photo essays. It's like choosing to live in a Hong Kong shoebox when the Palace of fucken Versailles is right over the fucking road

i’ve never had a facebook account or done any other social media besides twitter and a couple of forums. started in 2009 when i was releasing a records, because it seemed to be a good way to get the word out. i only follow a hundred or so accounts. a few other record labels, musicians, bands etc. that i like, as well the handful of friends/associates i know that're on there. political twitter is a toxic sludge swamp of over opinionated keyboard warrior fuckwits. i refuse to engage with any of that shit at all. none of accounts i follow post much and i rarely post anything now that i’m not doing music shit anymore. so, i'm only really on there for a few minutes at a time. it can be a good source of info and very amusing. it can be completely hellish if you let it suck you in. overall i'd say it is what you make it. and that comes down to your reasons for being on there and the accounts you choose to follow. like everything on the internet it does seem to only get worse and worse over the years with more and more advertising and spam bullshit. in the last few years i’ve started automatically blocking all promoted tweets and i’d say i’ve blocked over a hundred accounts for every one i’ve ever followed. i do question why i’m still on there.

starting to wonder what would happen if I signed up a gimmick account, didn't "follow" anyone, and just left random uninhibited daft comments under whatever rando threads/comments I happened to stumble across minute by minute. The twitter site is fahhking huuuuge.
People seem to take the twitter site so srsly with their needy little pithy 140-character wishwank "please, please, please click like on my post to validate my existence" comments. I only started tweeting again about 2 days ago and have already found myself back in my painfully boring cul de sac of tryhard indie "lit" "writers".
I reckon an unhinged dick around might be great fun. It could be the ultimate trolly dick around playground. WFt would happen with such insensible "unstructured" tweeting? Would I get banned? "Reported"?

Feels quite liberating really. Much more fun than limiting oneself to the tryhard cul de sacs of the usual suspects you sort of respectfully "follow". Like wandering around a 10-billion strong auditorium and just adding idiotic comments to each conversation as you pass by. |
