hey sprawley, have you heard the new all ex fall member supa gruppe? houseofall.bandcamp.com/album/house-of-allnot sure if its been discussed here and i really haven'r got the time to check. martin brahma is main instigator/lyricist/vocals. first track released sounds promising. way better than that horrible rockist brix shit band that were doing the rounds a few yrs back. i actually saw the fall with brahma on gtr in '91 when he was briefly back in the fold (alongside c.scanlon) . his playing was a highlight for me being a massive long time 'witch trials' fan. |

Funny to see username "Nelson Borges" - I had a weird falling out or misunderstanding with him that has always niggled me, so maybe if he pops up I should confront him about it... Briefly: It came up on TermBo that he was doing a French translation of a comix (UG? Alt?) artist named Dennis Worden, who started out in Flipside punk fanzine and was an early favorite artist of mine. Sporadic publishing over the years but a very thoughtful and interesting artist/dude. So I shared some info. and my impressions of Worden...He used it in his intro to the collection I suppose. I was really happy to see it finally come out and sent him a very congratulatory message...to which he didn't reply to for a long time, so I sent a follow up and he sent a curt reply with "I suppose you want a copy..." But I really didn't. My living situation doesn't need more books and if it did I would gladly pay for the book and shipping because I am happy just to support it as much as possible. Alas...I will have to double check the email exchanges but that is my memory of it. very old Worden strip  He became more philosophical with his Stickman character  Back to the musick  My intro to this lovely ensemble -- taped off RoTR! |

I still maintain that despite the misty-eyed reveries, Termbo was always pretty much just snobs and lurkers. could tend to have the air of a private school kids secret society. where a select group of uber cool kids let a bunch of would be cool kids hang around. mainly to harass and one up them so as to make them feel better about themselves. but also had some good laughs on there. could also be a good place to find out about records, bands, films, books etc i would otherwise never known about. went downhill badly in the last five or so years tho. to the point where it was good to see it finally die. |

The cowardly mods don't ban him. ALL of the women posters leave. The forum probably died right here. 2010-2015: the kool kids drift away. The bands they trumpeted to the high heavens were largely fucking terrible. 2015-2020. hospice care stage. 2021. DETH |

I really missed out on the prime/fun years of TB. oh well.
on IG whoever runs the termbo or terminal boredom acct or whatever, presumably the person that runs the board, said it would be back up for a while, i think as a last grab for people who want to... save whatever they want? not sure i fully followed but my takeaway was it's up for a bit, then it'll really be gone.

I started losing interest when more and more people i knew in real life vanished from the board. I think too, message boards were becoming obsolete. That was the gist as far as I remember and I can't check now OH WELL...I think the book thing happened early or mid-2010s and then he disappeared for a while, so when he came back as a screaming dickhead in the twilight of Termbore I was tempted to post the exchanges noting the dates to shame him but never followed through because I am a nice guy...sometimes anyhow.
I honestly have an ongoing (10 years!) IRL weird-ass relationship with a kiwi dude here. Maybe someday I will tell the story of my "nemesis", which he isn't really but I can never think of a word to encapsulate it all...
Anyhow TB is dead, long live TB...so back to music and discussion!
Do you still enjoy listening to '60s garage comps? I do.

Cool mix on that - now I wanna hear Jesus H. Clown though...I finally "got" '60s garage on the TermBore semi-precursor, the GaragePunk forums - was anybody here on that? A dude showed up one day bringing it strong in the '60s sub-forum. Turned out it was Mark Taylor, guitarist for The Lipstick Killers and Psycho-Surgeons
Their album was produced by Chris D for some reason...
Anyhow, it turned out Mark had gone nuts over G45s, inherited a ton of cash and started buying all the raerz, bought a mansion and set up an insane listening room with a 20,000 AUD (or more?) audio setup...then he started making flac comps for the board, and those were what really got me hooked into '60s stuff. Not that I was completely ignorant or antipathic towards it. My first real gf at 20 yrs old was big into '60s stuff, so I even saw Sky Saxon with the McDonald Brothers in 1986.
I have the others somewhere if anybody is interested. His forum UN was "BossHoss" lulz.
Ned Hayden from the Action Swingers was on it too. He tries to play a meanie but it's such obvious schtick. I was actually using these lyrics:

from an Action Swingers song from before he showed up as my sig, but he tried to mock me or something about it. "Haha watever Ned, I still love your stupid band..."

SFTRI - The label that launched The white tripes...Jack WHite played here a few months ago for 85 buck or so, honestly never grabbed me from before they got BiG...I supported/loved SFTRI from their first release, that wonderful Radio Cowgirl...but doesn't surprise me, it's probably all on Spotify and Long Gone just made way too many CDs. Landfill, oh well, think of all those failed Jpop, Kpop bands, CD singles...the cases...But hey, Pat Todd is still going strong, moi tambien, turn it up(?)

Got the yips and pulled out of this humungous wholesale order from Relapse.
Aboot $300 (thats their wholesale minimum order amount) but the fahhhking shipping was $160.
FFS $460 is abut 60,000 yen with the shit exchange rate. Plus it was only reallllly the Ilsa and Nothing lp's I was madly after.
Weird to see the GISM reissue so cheap. All the MRR purist dickwads having a baby in their undies that Relapse put an OBI on to hide the swastikas. Pearl clutching 1st world seppos can jog the fuck on

Hilarious about the obi on that GISM reissue. Pussyfooters was on that MRR international comp and I was of course blown away but I never got it together enough to mail order from Japan. I remember order a few HC records from Finland, like Terveet Kadet and that Russia Bomb Finland comp., maybe Brazil also... I think I only ever nabbed a Stalin ep in the wild but it didn't really impress me...Funny you mention MRR, from the Bandcamp page of the re-release:
