Hate to brag but I had the Death Star toy as a child. And maybe a couple of those little figurines.
The fucking thing fell apart so fast I dont think it even lasted a month.
Main memory of this film is 8-year old me standing in line with my little sister and deadbeat dad to see it on "NZ's main st" (LOL, Queen St).
HUGE line of what must've been HUNDREDS of people. Incredible scenes for New Zealand.
Haven't seen a rerun of it. 45 fahhking years ago ffs.

Some excellent folks have done 4K fan scans of theatrical prints of the first three films if you want to see them as they were released. Look for 4K77 or 4K83. Empire (4K80) isn't finished yet, but there's a "Grindhouse Edition" out there that's very watchable with lots of speckles and some fade.

Incidentally, I see you've missed out Rogue One, which is actually worth a look. It's nice, gritty little film that looks the business.

This is the Canadian version, isn't it? The one I had as a kid was (mostly) plastic and four levels high. A thing of beauty.

For me, as a child, it was the music that got me. An orchestra playing original music. That wasn't happening so much in other films when I was growing up. It made things on the screen seem important. And, as child, it was all about the Princess. She was cool and had some great one-liners. Luke seemed a bit eager. Han was too cool, really. The Princess, though, could fight, laugh, and still seem like royalty, which was fine on the big screen. Didn't know how fucked up real life royalty was at that age.
