This is fucking phenomenal. Absolutely brutal, vicious crime film that really makes you feel terrible in the best possible way. The setups and payoffs are so perfectly calculated to make you feel hideous that it crosses the line from hardboiled pulp into some sort of entirely new genre territory.

The sounds so terrifyingly not my thing but you do sell a good film Vic and now I kind of want to see it even though I absolutely do not want to see this film.

To give a bit more of a description, it's very, very slow and it isn't continuous action at all. Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn are cops who get suspended and decide to get some payback, but it's really just them tailing something they don't fully understand until it all blows up in everyone's faces. When it is violent, it's so violent it makes you gasp.
Same director as Bone Tomahawk, if you saw that (it's also brilliant).

How much of his Annoying Smug Dickhead thing does he employ in this film?

How much of his Annoying Smug Dickhead thing does he employ in this film? It's a completely different performance from him. It works really well.
