This is a hard no for me, dawg. Why am I listening to NPR in the first place? Obviously I suck at sports and am just looking for something where someone is not yelling about Q Anon to mildly distract me from work I don't want to do.
You're not good at this and no one tuned in wants to hear it.
Please more about the flaming shitshow of a world I live in regarding Afghanistan and COVID and America's embarrassing handling of both.
Using sports jargon in a soft NPR voice is just wrong.

Nazi Party Regalia? New Pants Regulations? Nationwide Pizzagate Rapists?
Confession time; I have no idea what "NPR" is or even what NPR stands for.

Also, I don't really identify as or think of myself as "American," but I am! I can't help it! I was born that way.
NPR is National Public Radio and it's so well known here it's parodied on Saturday Night Live.
If you're at all a liberal minded American, or even if you're someone who flips through the dial on the radio, you're like "Oh yeah, that's the one non-clear channel generic 'Where Hip Hop Lives' station." It's still generic, it's just a slightly off-brand of generic.
I'm rarely reminded of feeling American. (I think this is good; I don't want to "feel American.")
When practicing with my dumb band in Japan for like the 1000th hour (these fucking guys still exist, so... what 2005 - now? and just WILL NOT RECORD A RECORD, which drives me personally and inappropriately insane) I realized, oh, I'm American. I would get this to 90-95% "good" by our made up standards and let it go. Nope. Another 3 hour practice 9-12 pm on a Wednesday night. Result? Modify 1 guitar part of 1 song by 1 note. SO JAPANESE. Newsflash: I am not Japanese.
