Deadpool 2 (2018)

This is just non-stop gags and gore. It's great. I laughed hard throughout. For something as relentlessly meta and self-aware as it is, it's also got a lot of genuine characters in it.

It takes so many swipes at other superhero movies that it's kind of got a kind of trivia requirement, but since I generally keep up with this stupid shit I appreciated it.

This sort of thing runs the risk of devolving into something like those Mad Magazine film parodies or the ZAZ movies, but it doesn't cross that line and even the action scenes are pretty damn good. Something with fourth-wall-breaking meta jokes should not also be a good superhero film, but this is.

I was at a screener audience and the reactions were absolutely off the scale. Plenty of snooty film critics were laughing really hard and cheering on the violence. This is a real crowd-pleaser and it's going to make a killing.
