Another Paul Schrader film about a broken, lonely man trying to get through the world. Shot with almost no particular style in a way that adds to the feeling of being stuck in Oscar Isaac's character's personal limbo as he moves from shit casino to shit casino scraping a living by keeping his winnings modest. Not flawless, but really sticks with you.
