In this one Denzel Washington plays some sort of Mega Rambo 007 Bronson Revenge Machine.
The script must've been about 5 sheets of A4. Denzel doesnt say much in this one. He doesn't do much talking. By that, I mean he's the strong silent type in this one. He lets his actions do his talking for him. He stalks the baddie. He murders the baddie. He looks off mournfully. He murders another baddie. More sombre reflective silence from Denzel. He executes all the members of Seal Team 6. All of them. He reads Proust. He knifes an entire battalion of baddies in the brains during a tornado. He looks solemnly out the window for a bit.
The End.

Fuqua is very clearly living out his vigilante fantasies on screen.

God knows how old Denzel is by now. At least 60. VERY impressive of him to single-handedly murder all of Seal Team 6 in hand-to-hand combat, all of them young men in absolute peak condition, and probably quite well-trained in the skills of elite warfare. Sorry guys, you were no match for a 67-year old pensioner on this day.

I really enjoyed how much time the movie spent trying to make him look like something other than a psychopath.
