This isn't as distinctive as the first movie, but sometimes I just want to watch Tom Cruise drive cars and beat people up and this is a basic example of that. It dials down the Extreme Competency aspect of Reacher that's amusingly corny in the first film, as well as the snappy dialogue, and it's just a straight up chase film, but it's a pretty decent one with fun action and likeable characters. It feels nostalgically '90s Tom Clancy-ish in its general tone and subject matter, and there's really not enough of that in modern films, so I enjoyed it.
Maybe I'm sort of undemanding in terms of action flicks the way some ladies are with romcoms.

Of course, it will be long after we're all gone and the apocalyptic waters short out his cryogenic pod, probably around when the seas breach the last levee around 150 years from now but still... a world without Tom Cruise... it's like science fiction.

Someone needs to improve the quality of Chris Pratt's films.
