Probably the most mundane of Villeneuve's movies so far, but it's very good. Jackman and Gyllenhaal are both on excellent form and the amount of tension is impressive. What makes it rise above its genre is the emotional and moral complexity of the story. Villeneuve really has you behind the characters no matter what they do.
