Seeing it in a few hours. A year ago I'd have told you I wasn't interested in seeing another fucking Batman movie, but this actually looks good.

It's good. A little portentous and overlong, but it's so visually and sonically intense that it's worth a go.

More fleshed out: it's a really dark, brutal film. It's still very much a comic book film, but I think it merits an upgraded description as a Graphic Novel Film. Honestly, when I heard they were making another Batman flick, I couldn't have cared less, but this is pretty solid stuff. Batman looks like a crazy person wearing a home-made suit of body armour, and Gotham is a Stygian hellhole where the sun never shines. Tonally, it's more like a serial killer film, but there's plenty of action too. If you like Batman, then this is actually something of a theatrical must, if only because your TV might struggle to resolve the shadows.

I heard that this time around, they’re going with a “dark” and “gritty” approach to Batman, for a change.
