Rewatched this for the first time in, I don't know, 35 years? It's not as bad as it's hyped to be compared to the other two which are pretty much just as corny if substantially better written. Yes, too much slapstick, but it's fairly good slapstick and it's really just a live-action kids' cartoon with excellent production values. Some commendation to the visuals, which use Canadian locations and Arizona canyons to create hyper-real, idealised American scenery straight out of a comic strip.

29% on RT and it has Richard Pryor in it? I have definitely never seen this. No way I am forgetting a scene with Superman carrying Richard Pryor.

I liked this film. Then again, I enjoyed that "Solo" movie. In fact, I enjoyed it more than any other Star Wars film. Why? It was like Superman 3. I could just watch it and not give a shit about the "real world" or the endless fights about canon and so on. Fuck me fuck me fuck me. I am just trying to ignore the world, not be reminded that people make industries out of minutiae. Richard Pryor was great in that film Blue Collar, which I could never find on DVD. Not a comedic role, but a great film back when movies about regular working people weren't considered a waste of time.
