Saw it yesterday, rather enjoyed it.Can't even get into that much because I don't want to give anything away.
Although I haven't seen US yet, I did like it better than Get Out.

I liked this film, but it's impossible to discuss without major spoilers. NOPE falls into the category of films that make you think days after watching them, that's good cinema in my book. Is NOPE an acronym for something? I consider Peele to be an auteur, and I love that an auteur's films are receiving a major theatrical release. Mr. Peele can count on me to buy a ticket for his next film and I might go see NOPE again before it hits home video.

I saw it last night, it was fine. Maybe I am a dummy and the genius of Jordan Peele is lost on me? I haven't seen "Get Out" or "Us".
Was expecting there to be way more social commentary/satire, but as a HUGE BoJack Horseman fan the "schlocky 90's sitcom" subplot hit the target for me.
Most exciting part was on the way to the theatre there was a huge rainstorm and a big part of a tree fell into the road about a foot from the car I was in. Must have been God taking out his fury for Colorado not banning abortion or something.

On a purely literal level it's quite entertaining, but as it's obviously an allegory about media something or other it is so laboured as to be abstruse in the style of a high school student project, and I think combined with Us it's unavoidably revealed the limitations of Jordan Peele's metier. I think the guy's head's gone too far up his arse. Also, I found the dialogue barely intelligible.

I'm glad you said that - it's something I noticed throughout the film. The sound effects were loud - like almost painfully so. But the dialogue you could barely hear half the time. I can't imagine it was an intentional choice by Peele.
If it was, he needs to not do that. If it wasn't then the sound mixer should never work on a movie again.
