japantoday.com/category/world/1.1b-mega-millions-jackpot-latest-in-history-of-lotteries$1.1 billion. Guessing 40-60% of that will go in tax? FFS what a fantastic grift by the govt to raise tax revenues. "How do we tax these cunts for half a billion? "Easy. Run a lottery. The stupid fucks will queue up in their own time to actually hand over their cash to us. And this is AFTER we've taxed their income. They will gleefully line up to give us their leftover after income-tax money.".... of course I would buy a ticket for this lottery in a red hot second. Camp Leader loves these things. She would buy 20 tickets

I sometimes find myself having spent the last 10 minutes mentally fretting over how I am going to divvy up my lottery winnings.
#facepalm
So stupid.
"Well, if such and such gets 1 mill then such and such has to get at least 800k. Or is that too stingy..."
Then I start actually worrying about having to explain to people about how they got less than such and such.
Just an absolute spacklord waste of mental energy tying myself in knots over something that is NEVER going to eventuate.

I have heard my State doesn't actually have the funds to pay, which is kind of incredible but also makes sense. It's not as if they take $1 and literally put it in a big bucket to hand over to the winner (minus what 50% in tax? I wouldn't complain about $500k taxes if I also actually got $500k... I digress). I think Mega Millions is perhaps not state related. I would have bought a couple tickets but I couldn't be assed to physically go to a place that sells them. I've done this online before, maybe twice, I think.... I forget the scam but it's like $10 to fund and maybe you buy in increments of $5? Now look, I know "playing" the lottery is for idiots -- cognitively, air tight -- don't bother. Still it's kind of fun? And if you get like 3 numbers (maybe 4?) you still get like $100 which is fun! But online you don't even get the fun of the ticket and confirming what a loser you are, you just log in and it goes "No, no, no, no, no," then you're done. HEY! For $5 I want a pretend thrill!

I had 2 excellent Japanese gambling experiences. Bought exactly 1 lotto ticket for Y200, had to have a co-worker help me cash it out for Y10,000. Not bad! Bought a couple more and realized.... let's quit with that Y9200 profit.
Also won the first time I played pachinko. Terrible introduction. Wow, fun! I should keep doing this! No, no you shouldn't. It's a smoke-filled depression hole for either people with too much money or terrible financial behavior.
