LOL, the band of kids terrified of MES.
"You're going to play this 1 fucking riff for 4 minutes straight and if you try any of that solo freelance bullshit you're fired and we'll get some other cunt in."

LOL, the band of kids terrified of MES. "You're going to play this 1 fucking riff for 4 minutes straight and if you try any of that solo freelance bullshit you're fired and we'll get some other cunt in." from an interview with that lineup after his death: I had no intention of joining the group full time, I was fully aware of Mark's reputation and had felt the atmosphere around previous line ups and concluded that this was something I wanted to experience, but only briefly. My expectations were shattered after playing these dates. This was exciting, thrilling, nerve racking, flying by the seat of your pants etc. and The Fall were lovely friendly people and Mark was the the funniest, wittiest person I had ever met. What is your fondest memory of Mark? Sitting in a hotel room after a show belly laughing at Mark. He’s probably the funniest person I’ve ever known. Cracks me up! What’s the most amusing story you have of working with Mark? There’s so many funny stories it’s hard to pick just one. He once took an outline of his shoe that he’d drawn on a piece of paper into a shoe shop and said ‘have you got anything in this size?’ You had to be there to see the look on the guys face! Was he difficult to work with? Obviously the mythology sets him up as a megalomaniac with the band? It took a while for me to get used to his way of working but like any job, as long as you do as you’re told it’s easy. I had to completely change the way I play to suit what Mark had in his head. He wanted me to cut down on drum fills and get that repetitive thing going. He preferred me to hit hard and keep the energy level up. Once I understood what he wanted working together was easy.

I had no idea creative people still made art.
I thought they just stared at their phones and got upset about something someone wrote on the internet, just like everyone else.

This song was featured on a Texas punk comp!

If there are private press rock albums then there must be private press jazz? Led me to this release, which is a dingy kind of modal jazz from 1969. and a few of these songs but for the instrumentation wouldn’t sound out of place on some sf psych record from around this time. No i don’t have an original.

I had the test pressing (edition of 1) on coloured vinyl but didnt really like the chord progressions on the 1st track so I put the record in my microwave and melted it. Then I drank it with my snot soup.

Olivia Rodrigo, Guts > Boygenius, the record. Which is as shame since I loved Boygenius's first EP. If this opinion makes me lame the so be it.

That's a good song although I like the Olivia song more. I can't find anything about this band on the internet they're not even on Spotify.

Anybody else think that the songs on The Cure's Disintegration kind of drag on and the arrangements could've been tightened up a bit more?

I've relistened to Disintegration and I like it a bit more now. Lullaby is one of the better songs on the albums but you should still listen to the entire thing. Here's a preview -

Spotlights - Seismic Almost had a heart attack in my donger when I opened up this wee early Xmas prezzie: It looks for all the world as if wet tissue paper is stuck to the vinyl. Upon closer inspection it's just the colour pattern of the vinyl but holy shit this must be a new thing, I've never seen anything like this. Very goddamn disconcerting
